HILLARIOUS!!!... Learn How You Can Get Paid For Breastfeeding
There is nothing new under the earth; as grave as an event may be, you can be sure there have been similar experiences in the past that could be linked to it. Women are expected to breastfeed their babies and nurture them to health with everything they have. This should not be hard to understand as babies are dependent and it is the sole responsibility of the mother to look after them till they start to do things themselves. Muslim scholars will be familiar with the verse that says “Then if they give suck to the children for you, give them their due payment”.
This is taken from al-Talaaq 65:6; this simply means that a woman who asks her husband for payment for breastfeeding her children should be given. As strange as this sounds, women who want to be paid by their husbands for
breastfeeding their children can get paid if they ask. However, this view got debunked by other scholars who raised the point that so far a woman is married to a man, she is not allowed to ask for payment for the breastfeeding of their children. Breastfeeding is one of her duties as a mother and if anything will be given to her, it will be for maintenance.
The verse from al-Baqarah 2:223 backs that saying; the interpretation of this verse means that “The mothers shall give suck to their children for two whole years, (that is) for those (parents) who desire to complete the term of suckling, but the father of the child shall bear the cost of the mother’s food and clothing on a reasonable basis“. So many imams in the Islamic faith have debated this verse and have expressed their opinions in their doctrines. Allah has been able to help us clarify some of the issues caused by the first verse here. The verse in al-Talaaq 65:6 concerns those who are divorced. The women have to be looked after in some way. Divorced women are not usually with their husbands; thus, they should be given something in payment for the breastfeeding of the baby. It would be the man’s responsibility to provide for his wife after all whether she breastfeeds or not; but in a case whereby she is no longer a wife she can be paid for breastfeeding the children. In view of all these, most of the women in the society are compassionate and would not make demands to be paid for breastfeeding their children. May the peace of Allah be upon you all.
