FOOTBALL: Van Persie Comes Back To Haunt Arsenal As City, Spurs Slump
Robin van Persie turned on his old club by scoring the only goal of the game as champions Manchester United beat Premier League leaders Arsenal 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday to revive their title challenge.
The Dutchman, who joined United in a £24 million ($38 million) move in August last year after failing to be convinced about the trophy ambitions of Arsenal, who last won a major piece of silverware in 2005, struck in the 27th minute.

Don't Give Up On Nigeria - Okim
Very true. Do not quit on Nigeria, do not give up on Nigeria, Do not abandon Nigeria, rather protect Nigeria, fight for Nigeria, defend Nigeria, defend her principles. Even when you are dealt blows because of Nigeria, accept it and don't quit on Nigeria. There were times were you couldn't speak your mind without being imprisoned and killed, there were times were you couldn't move around freely without being lynched, there were times when only the rich could afford education but today things are different. Nobody will kill you for speaking your mind even if it is against the government, nobody will sanction you even if you object the policies of the government, everybody now has a right to education and can afford the basic education. Yes, we may not be 100% okay, yes we may be imperfect, but so is every other country in the world. The fact that there is an iota of development in Nigeria, it means there is hope for Nigeria.
Therefore Accept Nigeria as your country, believe in Nigeria and above all Change Nigeria. The Lord God will see Nigeria through. Keep hope alive.

NIGERIA: Not Worst In The World
It's really baffling, and very disgruntling to know that when we are talking about keeping hope alive in Nigeria, and don't give up on Nigeria, some unpatriotic Nigerians try to refute the fact that Nigeria can rise again. We all are aware of the situation in Nigeria, and believe us when we say Nigeria is not the worst country in the world. There are countries were feeding is a problem for virtually every citizen of that nation like Djibouti, Somalia, Liberia,; there are countries were you dare not say anything against the government or you'll be sanctioned seriously like North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, there are countries were you can't even move freely because

Another eye witness who recounted her ordeal said to our News men that "I was just opposite the building receiving a phone call when I heard a sound like thunder, coming from the Local Government Secretariat and people were

Electricity Consumers To Pay N50,000 For Pre-paid Metres
From April 25 electricity consumers may pay between N25,000 and N50,000 for pre-paid metres for the single phase and three phase models, respectively, under the new Credited Advance Pay for Metering Implementation, CAPMI, scheme.
The price tag is believed to fast track the deployment of pre-paid metres to customers across the country sequel to the failed free metre scheme initially proposed by the Federal Government.
CAPMI became necessary following complaints by consumers about poor electricity service delivery in the face of continued estimated billing by Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN.

Highest Paid Nigerian Footballers In 2012
Nigerian footballers sure do not earn the sort of money some of their colleagues from other African countries like Ivory Coast (Didier Drogab, Yaya Toure), Cameroun (Samuel Eto) take home. However, that some of them earn quite impressive sums of money is very obvious.
NairaBrains a business and technology site has released a detailed list of top 8 earning Nigerian Footballers in 2012 and some surprise inclusions are made. Many do not know that several players playing outside the popular leagues in Europe made quite more money than many of their counterparts in the so-called top leagues (English Premiership, Spanish La Liga etc)

The fortunes of Nigeria’s footballers in various football leagues across the world may be dwindling as very few are able to land lucrative deals at prestigious clubs unlike their counterparts from South America and some African countries like Ghana, Ivory Coast (where Yaya Toure and Didier Drogba pull in enviable amounts as wages).
However there are still many of Nigeria’s exports who earn big in their own right and below after extensive research I present to you the most definitive list of Nigeria’s highest earning footballers in 2012.
1. Yakubu Aiyegbeni
Age: 30
Club: Guangzhou R&F
Wage: £5.04 million
Yakubu, after proving himself for several seasons in the English Premier League the Yak made a big money move to China’s Guangzhou R&F where is reported to pull in nearly £100,000 weekly. In fact his annual take home at the Chinese club is placed at £5,040,000.
2. John Obi Mikel
Age: 25

Mikel Obi the Chelsea midfielder was previously on a £2,600,000 (£50,000 per week) but recently signed a new five year contract with
