On Monday June 23, over 100 members of the Nigerian entertainment industry gathered to strategise on how to give late Gospel singer Kefee, a befitting burial. The meeting took place at
Gospel artist, Sammie Okposo’s office in Surulere, Lagos and some notable names in attendance were Nikki Laoye, Tosin Martins, DJ Gosporella, Emem Ema, Princess, Tee-Y Mix, Perry Martins, Mudi, as well as reps from Kefee’s family.
Kefee’s husband, Teddy Don-Momoh who is still in the United States, monitored the proceedings of the meeting from there. He pleaded for the family’s privacy to be respected and used the opportunity to address rumours surrounding Kefee’s death.

He said reports of a pregnancy were false and the story that her body had been flown home was “very insensitive and mischievous”.
He also said, he was not stranded in the United States or soliciting for financial help as had been reported on some blogs (not this one!). He is finalizing the required paperwork for her body to be returned home after which he would fly to Nigeria ahead of his late wife’s remains so he is here to receive it when it arrives.
Teddy went on to say that Kefee’s family had requested that she be buried in their hometown, Okpara-Inland, Ethiope East local government, with a celebratory service in Sapele afterwards and that he was comfortable with that. Those, according to him, were the only definite arrangements for his wife’s burial so far.
