FG Urges Nigerians NOT To Travel To The US...This is Why

A couple of weeks ago, the Federal Government of Nigeria issued a warning to it’s citizens not to travel to the United States except it’s for an urgent reason.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa gave this warning on Monday in a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Abdurrahman Balogun, stating that until the new US Immigration rules are made clear Nigerians should refrain from travelling to the US thus risking
being refused entry and having their valid visas being cancelled as has reportedly happened in the last few weeks.
The statement read,
In the last few weeks, the office has received a few cases of Nigerians with valid multiple-entry US visas being denied entry and sent back to the Nigeria. In such cases reported to the office, such affected persons were sent back immediately on the next available flight and their visas were cancelled.”
She added,
No reasons were given for the decision by the US immigration authorities. We only to advise Nigerians without any compelling or essential reasons to visit the US to consider rescheduling their trip until there is clarity on the new immigration policy. In the last few weeks, the office has received a few cases of Nigerians with valid multiple-entry US visas being denied entry and sent back to the Nigeria.
This comes as President Donald Trump has just signed a revised executive order that bans citizens from some mainly-Muslim countries from entering the US. Nigeria is not one of the six mainly-Muslim nations whose citizens are expected to be included in Donald Trump’s new travel ban
