Obasanjo Joins Cherie Blair To Celebrate Business Women in Africa in London (Photos)

On Wednesday 9th July, renowned Law firm White & Case hosted some of the UK’s leading women in business at a summer event tagged ‘Women and Business in Africa’.
The event was held in conjunction with
Women Leaders in Infrastructure’to celebrate the achievements of outstanding women entrepreneurs in Africa and to inspire other women doing business in Africa to overcome the challenges involved in running a thriving enterprise in the African climate.

Speakers at the event included Bridgette Radebe, CEO Mmakau Mining and Africa’s first woman mining entrepreneur, Wife of former British PM Cherie Blair, founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation which has many programmes on women empowerment in Africa and Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo who spoke about his foundation’s ‘Girl Child’ Initiative with a focus of keeping girls in schools in Africa safe. Many Women leaders at the event took the opportunity to mingle during the networking session as they listened to the speakers share amazing experiences of doing business in Africa.
Other notable guests at the event included Mrs Toyin Saraki, wife of the former Governor of Kwara state and Nigerian actress Adaora Okoh.
