Davido got a presidential welcome upon his arrival in the Rwandan capital of Kigali, over the weekend. The 21 year old and his entourage were given a Michael Jackson/Beyoncé type red carpet welcome when the President of the country himself – Paul Kagame personally welcome the pop star outside the airport!

Davido was in the country to
perform at the Amahoro National Statdium as part of the country’s annual Liberation Day celebration. Later in the night he performed some of his biggest hits in front of a 60,000 strong audience. BET may not appreciate our African entertainers, but we Africans definitely do. Last week Sunday (June 29th) Davido won the Best African Act Award at the BET Awards in L.A., his first BET Awards and just like Ice Prince last year he was presented his award before the ceremony even started, and as if that wasn’t bad enough his acceptance speech was not aired in the US when the show aired on Sunday.
