The funeral service for late Justice Chuwudifu Oputa, the father of area fada Charly Boy who passed away few weeks ago ended abruptly yesterday when his son, Charly Boy stopped Imo state Goveror Rocas Okorochas from making a speech for the deceased.
Okorocha, who was equally angry that
proto­col was breached by Presi­dent Goodluck Jonathan who was represented at the mass by the Secretary of the Government of Federation, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim by speaking before him, rose to make his speech but Charly Boy seized the microphone from the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Ike, which created confusion in the church.
The Parish Priest begged the controversial area fada to honour Okorocha by allowing him to speak but he refused saying he wouldn’t want his father’s burial to be politicised.
Upset by Charly Boy’s action, Okorocha left the church in anger.
Immediately after Okorocha’s departure, Imo state Attorney General, Chuwuma Umeh ordered all the lawyers who came to the funeral to leave.
