The late Mrs  Iwari Oba (aka Madam Sisi) was on her way to Yenagoa  from Port Harcourt to check the renovation of her house, which she vacated during the wake of the 2012 flood when the vehicle she was travelling got involved in an accident along

Oshiomhole Is Vexed; Itching To Begin Protest

Edo state governor Adams Oshiomhole spoke with the national executive members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) who visited him in Benin yesterday.
"Right now many of us are worried about the goings on in the country. I cannot stage a protest now because I will be misunderstood, but my heart is in the mood of protesting, so that my own children will not inherit the iniquities of the evil we see every day," he said.
"We are in very challenging times and we are buffeted with a good number of elite entrusted with state powers at various levels privatising those powers and behaving as if they are gods and dealing ruthlessly with those who are powerless and applying the resources in a manner that is offensive to the poor," he added.
Oshiomhole said Nigeria is treading a dangerous ground that might threaten the foundation of its existence. "Things happening around, for me, represent very dangerous signals. There are people who do not wish the country well and unfortunately

PHOTOS: See Why These Boys Wear SKIRTS To School

PHOTOS: Why These Schoolboys Wear Skirts to School? (Video)
A group of schoolboys have decided to protest an administrative ban on short by wearing skirts to class. A heatwave currently washing over the UK has already claimed the lives of hundred.
Naturally, the year 10 boys at Whitchurch High School in Cardiff sought to trade in their school-mandated trousers for something a bit more weather-appropriate.
"Over the last few days I’ve had a few headaches and skin irritations because I’ve been too hot," said 15-year-old Tyrone Evelyn. "Girls can wear skirts, so I don’t see why we can’t wear shorts."
To protest the ban, Evelyn and 16 of his friends decided to turn the tables on school officials by taking advantage of a loophole in the uniform code — and wearing skirts themselves.
To avoid having the protest shut down before it started, the boy brought the skirts with them to school in secret. See more pictures after the cut

If You Want To Loose Weight, Eat 5 Times Daily!

Imagine having to eat five times a day to burn fat. I mean one would think that in order to lose fat you must  decrease  food intake, starve or even skip meals. Hold on a second, this is exactly what has been pulling you  back from achieving your fat loss dreams. Yes, in order to burn fat, you must eat at least five times a day! The major rule is to never stuff  yourself in one sitting. In other words, each eating time must be small portion of food.  Not every overweight person is an overeater. Some people hardly eat at all and they still can't lose weight. However, many people who are overweight are overeating and this is often the ONLY thing they're doing wrong.  Fat loss requires the discipline and willpower to control your portions at all times. The major rule is to never stuff yourself in one sitting. Instead, always spread out your calories throughout the day in smaller, more frequent meals. Small, frequent meals have an amazing effect on your metabolic rate (fat-burning machine of the body). ONE or TWO meals a day is a disaster for fat loss. If you haven't been eating at least three times a day, you are causing serious damage to your metabolism.  Eat THREE meals a day, properly balanced with the right nutritious  foods, and work out hard and you'll get some results. But...you'll get about half the results you'd getfrom five meals a day and it will take you twice as long to get there.FIVE  meals a day? Now we're getting somewhere.  Five meals a day will give you excellent results on a weekly basis for females and six times for males. But the questions are:  1. "What type of foods do I eat 5 times in a day to get results" 2. "What if I have a big tummy, will this eating plan help me totrim my tummy?" Well, I will soon furnish you with information that will answer these questions. WATCH OUT!

CHILD MARRIAGE: Read Atiku Abubakar's Statement

Ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar speaks out on the Child Marriage issue currently going on in the country.
"As a father, I've never given out my daughters in marriage before university graduation. It's a personal decision.
I had earlier stated my personal choices on the child marriage issue; I have always supported our women and children. For the avoidance of doubt, I do not support any constitutional provision which creates ambiguities about the age of consent for marriage.
It's therefore very inspiring to see young Nigerians active and organized on ‪ChildNotBride‬. I'm proud to see an engaged generation at work".

S-H-O-C-K-I-N-G! Patience Jonathan's Mother Dies In Car Crash

SHOCKING: Woman Who Disappeared 52 Years Ago, Found Living With A New Family

photo In September 1961, Lucy Johnson shared a home with her husband and young daughter near Vancouver, Canada.
In September 1961, Lucy Johnson shared a home with her husband and young daughter near Vancouver, Canada.
Then she vanished.
Sheila Reynolds of The Surrey Leader reports that Johnson's daughter, Linda Evans, discovered that her mother currently lives in the Yukon Territory in northwestern Canada — 1,000 miles from their former home in Surrey, British Columbia.
Johnson is reportedly alive and well. Now 77, she has four other children: three sons and a daughter.
Back in 1965 the Surrey Royal Canadian Mounter police dug up the family's yard after learning she had gone missing years earlier than her husband had claimed.
Since then she became one of world's oldest missing person cases.
Evans, now in her late 50s, attempted to solve the mystery after reading a recent Leader story about Johnson’s disappearance.
Knowing her mother was born in Alaska, she placed an ad in the Yukon News detailing Lucy’s name, place and date of birth, and her grandparents’ names.
She received a phone call from a woman who said that she was pretty sure the woman Evans was searching for was her mother also, which would make her and Evans half-sisters.
“I have a lot of questions. And they’re all ‘Whys?' Evans told the Leader.
Below is a map showing where Surrey is in relation to the Yukon. The city (population: 468,251) is 1,218 miles from the Yukon territorial capital of Whitehorse. Google estimates that it would be a 29 hour drive.

What Causes You The Most Stress?

Stress can be regarded as mental, emotional or physical trauma or worry caused by anxiety. Many suffer from it without knowing the source while just a few could realize the cause of stress. It can go this way:
“Debt is my biggest source of money stress. I owe so much money that it keeps me awake at night.”  Jide – Architect. “I stress about money because I haven’t got any!” Mary – Receptionist.
What aspect of your finances stresses you the most?
Try and identify what it is about your financial life that stresses you the most and then take deliberate steps to do something about it. Is it your debt that is out of control, are you having trouble paying your bills or is the rising cost of education or rent causing much concern? Are there more frequent arguments with your spouse over finances?
By taking definite steps each day towards your goal, you will reduce your stress. If it is debt related, then your priority should be to focus on repaying the most expensive debt first. As always your plan should not be vague or you won’t have the sense of purpose you need to achieve it. It should be as precise as possible; specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and very importantly, time-bound.
Bills, bills and more bills
Bills always seem to arrive at the wrong time. To eliminate the stress of bills, make an effort to settle them as they come in. Are you still paying bills the old-fashioned way? Nowadays there is no excuse for dealing with your most routine bills manually. Several banks offer an online payment system where you can settle your bills without having to issue cheques or carry cash and some service providers have made it more convenient for you to pay your bills through some bank websites.
All you have to do is to activate your internet banking facility, log on to the banks website and set up automatic payments online so that your bills are settled electronically. This frees up valuable time each month and ensures that your bills are always paid promptly and without the stress of being cut off if you forget or are out of town. Be sure to maintain a cushion in your account so that you always have enough to fund the bill payments as they come in.
Money and relationships
A leading cause of stress in relationships is money; indeed research shows that a major cause of divorce is money. Many couples snipe about bills, frivolous spending and bad investments. Often money matters are not discussed and are left to fester on the back burner until there is a problem. Try to talk about money on a regular basis without blame and in a non-threatening and constructive way. If you are in a relationship, there is so much to talk about that will create common ground for building a financial plan together; this ranges from spending patterns, bills, debt, income, the children’s education, a comfortable retirement, the care of elderly parents, a travel budget and so on.

I go to the spa to pamper myself. I believe in massages and therapeutic body treatment to remove the toxins in my body”.

Federation Cup: Eguavoen Laments Defeat

City of David United coach, Austin Eguavoen has  blamed his team’s ouster from the  Federation Cup competition on players' inexperience.
The Lagos-based Pro Division 1 side were sent home from the tournament after a 4-0 defeat by  Nasarawa United in Ilorin.
“It was quite unfortunate, but it wasn’t such terrible performance. Inexperience played a major role in the defeat. We didn’t concede any goal in the first half,” Eguavoen told the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday.
“We committed a blunder and they scored. The spectators and the opposing team applauded my players, despite the scoreline. We  gave a good account of ourselves.”
The former  Super Eagles coach  commended the officiating and security at the match venue. The ex-Eagles captain said, “I think, in terms of security, it was very good: officiating was fair enough.”
“I  stayed back to watch the second match between Warri Wolves and Sportlight. I give kudos to the officials; they gave a good account of themselves.”

The Difference Between Weight Loss And Fat Loss

Many seem to believe that weight loss and fat are synonymous in meaning. This is common among victims of this disorder and dietitians alike. This piece will however provide clear differences between both terms. It will also provide answers to why you should not diet (skip meals). Firstly, as you read through, you'll be seeing the terms "burning fat", "losing fat", or "melting fat". They mean the same thing BUT, losing fat is not the same as losing weight. Anybody can lose weight. When you fast or skip meals, your weight drops - you are not burning fat, just painfully losing your muscle and water from your body. Weight loss and fat loss are not the same thing. You must learn to distinguish between the two. The scale can be very misleading if it's the only criteria you use for measurement. For example, a woman could weigh 50kg and have 33% body fat. That's what I call a skinny fat person. In contrast, a female bodybuilder could weigh 65kg and be quite lean, with body fat as 14%. With this in mind, your goal should never be weight loss. Your goal should be losing fat while
maintaining muscle. Your muscle is the engine that
controls fat loss. Secondly, When you starve yourself or skip meals, you
also starve the muscle. When you starve the muscle, you
lose muscle along with the fat. When you lose muscle, your metabolism slows down and your
body enters the starvation mode. When your body enters
starvation mode, fat loss comes to a STOP as your body
tries to conserve its energy. When the fat loss stops, you both give up (and gain
back all the fat you lost), or you grit your teeth and
drop your calories (starve yourself) even more.  If you drop your calories even more, your metabolism slows
down even more.  And if your metabolism slows down even more,
fat loss comes to a screeching STOP again.  Eventually, you will end up frustrated and worried why
dropping your calories or skipping meals is not giving you
the results you need. You will remain fat, irrespective of doing the things
above. If you want to get results, you will have to change the way
you perceive dieting. And no, you don't have to fast to lose
weight, instead you will do the opposite, eat more. But wait, doesn't eating more food cause weight gain? You ask! Yes, it does. But, there is a way to eat more that allow
you to lose all the fat you have gathered all your life.

How? You ask!

In 2 days time, I shall be opening your eyes to a special
way of eating up to 5 times while losing more fat than you
have ever lost in your entire life.

How To Lose Weight After Childbirth

One of the most life changing experiences a woman can have in her life time is having a baby. This singular experience comes with accompanying changes in different areas of a woman’s life. It affects her shape or size, mood, emotion and psychology, but it can be a most rewarding experience when armed with the right knowledge to handle this experience.

Most new mums wonder why it is so difficult to lose baby fat and whether they will ever regain their original belly shape.

JAY Z Changes The Spelling Of His Name

JAY Z
JAY Z has officially changed the way his name is spelt.
A source has confirmed that the hyphen has been dropped and that it is now "all capital letters".
The rapper's official website says JAY Z instead of Jay-Z, with iTunes and YouTube also using the new spelling.
JAY Z has dropped the hyphen from his name, according to his label. I am not kidding
Joe Levy Billboard editor
Billboard editor Joe Levy tweeted: "JAY Z has dropped the hyphen from his name, according to his label. I am not kidding. (Wish I was.) Copy editors: take note."
He hasn't given a reason for the change and there's been no official comment yet from his label, Roc Nation.
Some Twitter users suggest the change happened several years ago with a source confirming the star has not spelt his name with a hyphen since 2010.
On the rapper's 2011 collaborative album, Watch The Throne with Kanye West, his name is spelt with capital letters and without the hyphen.
But his most recent solo album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, has the star's name on the cover with a strategic line through the text, which makes it hard to see the exact styling of the letters.
The star's 12th studio album was released last week and has already broken US streaming records on Spotify after clocking up 14 million plays.
The album also had the biggest single day for streaming of an album in US Spotify's history and went straight to number one in the Official UK Album Chart last week.
JAY Z's real name is Shawn Carter

B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G -N-E-W-S: GSM Services Restored In Borno

BREAKING: GSM Services Restored in BornoThe Nigerian government had suspended telephone services in Borno since May.
Telecommunication services have been restored in Borno State, the hotbed of the Boko Haram insurgency.
The Federal Government suspended all GSM services in the state since May following the declaration of a State of Emergency there.
Satellite phones, which were becoming popular among middle class and rich residents, were also banned by security forces, who used the telephone black-out as a tactic to limit communication among members of the insurgents.
Two other states where emergency rule was declared, Adamawa and Yobe, had their telephone services restored earlier in the month.
The defence headquarters spokesperson, Chris Olukolade, told Reuters that the telephone services were restored "in reaction to the improved security situation and to relax the environment and ease tensions."  It will be recalled that the Nigerian government suspended telephone services in Borno since May.

Who Killed Kudirat Abiola?

This should be the question on the lips of every man and woman of conscience, considering the acquittal last week of Maj. Hamza al-Mustapha, Chief Security Officer of ex-military dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha. Al-Mustapha, until his acquittal, had been in detention since 1999 for the murder of Kudirat Abiola, wife of M.KO. Abiola, winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election who himself died in detention in July 1998.
The state reception and effusive welcome party for al-Mustapha must be gut-wrenching for any Nigerian who lived through the horrors of the Abacha dictatorship. As Abacha’s Chief Security Officer, al-Mustapha was the point man of the murderous triumvirate that comprised Ismaila Gwarzo, National Security Adviser and Frank Omenka of the notorious Directorate of Military Intelligence. They had as their henchmen Barnabas Jabila (a.k.a Sgt. Rogers), Muhammed Abdul (a.k.a Katako), Alhaji Danbaba, and Rabo Lawal amongst others.
The High Court of Lagos State under Hon. Justice Mojisola Dada had on January 30, 2012, found both  al-Mustapha and Alhaji Lateef Shofolahan, one of Kudirat’s aides, guilty of

List Of Nigerian Senators Who Supported The Legalization Of Underage Marriage

We now know how senators voted on the constitution amendment bill which caused an uproar in the senate on Tuesday.
The part up for ammendment relates to persons qualifies to renounce Nigerian citizenship. The constitution in Section 29 says anyone of age can do so.
Section 29(4) (b) says that ” any woman who is married shall be deemed to be of full age.” It means that even a child if married can be seen to be of full age and as such can renounce citizenship. The committee proposed that that provision be deleted.
When it was put to vote, 2/3 of members present voted for it which meant it was deleted. 2
Senator Yerima had kicked and mobilised his fellow Muslims in the Senate which was threatening to cause confusion. Despite the senate president, David Mark insisting that

How To Remain A Perfect Girlfriend Despite 7 Tough Situations

How to Remain a Perfect Girlfriend Despite 7 Tough Situations

When a loved one is sick……Don’t try to tell your guy it will be okay, or offer a million ways to make him feel better. Just be there when he wants to talk, cuddle, cry or have company. You don’t have to say anything.
It’s easy to know what to do when everything is going fine in you and your man’s lives; be sweet, funny, charming, hot – you know, the usual. But when disaster strikes your partner, there are some behaviours you need to ease up on, and some that will be all new territory for you. Here’s how to be a quintessential and supportive girlfriend in some of life’s most trying situations.

1. WHEN HE RUNS INTO HIS EX
Maybe it’s an ex who left him at the alter or cheated on him, or perhaps an ex who went a little crazy and warranted a restraining order. Either way, you can’t just go on as if nothing just happened when you and your man run into his ex.
IT DEPENDS ON THE EX
If it was an ex who broke his heart, you might wonder if he still has feelings for her. But look: he is with you now. The last thing he needs after running into an ex is to have to console you and let you know everything is okay. In this case, act casual, happy and

When Will Al-Mustapha Go To The Villa?

When Will Al-Mustapha Go to the Villa?Something is not right with the way Major Hamza al-Mustapha suddenly gained freedom.  Considering the nature of the celebrated case, his acquittal happened all too suddenly, too quietly. But that’s not why I worry.
I worry because the entire trial had been political. I worry because his release is also political.
One doesn’t even need to have keen interest in the events following al-Mustapha’s release to see that a complex and dangerous political game is at play here.
The signs have been too glaring, including among others: al-Mustapha’s visit to Prophet T.B Joshua upon his release; Femi Fani-Kayode’s hurriedly arranged press conference (If I can call it that) commending the federal government; the escort to Kano by

UK Scientists Unveil Mobile Phone Powered By Urine

photoThis is really good.
Mobile phone owners could soon be able to give their batteries a boost with their own urine.
British scientists at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory have developed a way of using urine as a power source to generate electricity and claim to have created the world’s first microbial fuel cells (MFC) powered mobile phone.
While many people might turn their noses up at the energy source, the researchers said that it is the ‘ultimate waste product’ and does not rely on the erratic nature of the wind or the sun.
The scientists shared their breakthrough in the Royal Society of Chemistry Journal of Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics.

5 Simple Steps To Make Her Fall In Love With you

photoThis method does not require expensive gifts, extravagant gestures or rockhard abs. In fact, all it really requires is a little charm and a few good manners. Mastering the following 5 qualities will set you on your way to becoming the man women will be fighting for.
1. Present yourself as the ideal man
One of the worst mistakes a man can make is being insecure, desperate and intimidated-constantly seeking a woman’s approval. Women want the ideal man who is confident, self-sufficient and respectable. When you display these traits, along with maintaining strong eye contact, good posture and slow body gestures and movements, most women will take notice of you.
2. Learn to dress smarter
The first impression matters a lot and how you dress is a big part of the impression you create. Just like women use make-up to appear prettier than they really are, men can improve their appearance through their style of dress. Keeping yourself up and adapting a

10 Tips For Lasting Weight Loss

Just Practice; Don't Try to Be Perfect
Realize that it's okay to indulge on occasion; one extra treat will not doom your dieting efforts. Everyone goes overboard from time to time. When you do, try not to wallow in guilt or anxiety about it. You can't control the past, all you can control is the choice you can make right now. Work in enough foods that feel like rewards on a regular basis so that you don't feel deprived and primed to binge on a regular basis. Remember, it takes time, effort, and practice to form new healthy eating habits.
It's almost time to hit the beach, but you're still about 25 pounds away from your weight loss goal. Sure, it's a tall order. But you can shed weight quickly, depending on how much you have to lose and how focused you remain.
Oftentimes, simple, easy changes can help you see results right away. That said, patience is an important part of the successful weight-loss formula. The pounds didn't get packed on overnight; it's going to take some time to establish healthy eating and exercise habits, and shed the not-so-healthy ones. If you follow these 10 steps, it won't feel like mission impossible, and you'll be more likely to keep the weight off.
Do Some Detective Work
Take some time to identify the most likely culprits of the unwanted weight. Are fried or sugary foods too tough to resist? Is it hard to avoid noshing whenever free food is within arm's reach? Are you too tired and busy to shop and cook healthy meals? Or do emotions--like boredom, anxiety, nervousness, depression, and joy--send you straight to

The World Is Getting More Corrupt And These Are The 5 Worst Offenders

On Tuesday, Berlin-based watchdog Transparency International released its Global Corruption Barometer 2013, a worldwide survey of 114,000 people that analyzes bribery and corruption in 107 countries. The report found that corruption and bribery are prevalent across both developed and underdeveloped nations: More than 50 percent of respondents in the world said corruption had worsened in recent years, and 27 percent admitted to paying bribes in order to access public services and institutions.Few respondents see an easy way out of this growing problem. The majority of people don’t believe in their government’s capabilities to fight corruption. Nearly 88 percent think that their leaders are doing a poor job at it, and most blame public institutions as the main corruption sources. Here are five of the world’s most corrupt institutions, according to the survey:

1) The PoliceFor years now, many people in rural areas of countries like Mexico and Venezuela have learned an important lesson: If you have a problem with the law, avoid the police, because you might end up with even more problems. In Mexico, cartels pay municipal police $100 million every month, and more than 93 percent of drivers think traffic policemen are corrupt. (One solution to that problem: female police officers.) In Venezuela, the interior ministerexcoriated his entire force last month. Those are some of the most extreme cases, but they reflect a general worldwide distrust of cops. Across the globe, police received 3.7 rating on a 1 to 5 scale, where 1 means ‘not at all corrupt’ and 5 means ‘extremely corrupt’.

2) JudgesFew forms of corruption can hurt a country more than judicial corruption. The rule of law tends to disappear when people don’t trust the justice system. If you don’t think a judge can help you, there is a greater chance you will take justice in your own hands or allow
